Welcome to the Telework Learning Center. Our mission is to improve the safety and health of people who work from home (teleworkers). Teleworkers set up their own home offices. A well-designed working environment can improve the health, safety, and productivity of teleworkers. However, without proper guidance and training, teleworkers can create safety and health hazards.

To improve the safety and health of individuals who work from home, we’ve created a comprehensive, interactive web-based training series. The series was evaluated and proven effective in a research project funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control. The training series consists of five modules: Ergonomics, Accidents/Security/Disaster Planning, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety, and Indoor Air Quality. Modules are designed to help teleworkers:

• Understand the importance of home office safety;
• Evaluate their own home office for health and safety hazards; and
• Adjust their workspace to mitigate hazards.

Each module includes an interactive safety checklist, posttest, course completion certificate and printable resources. Employers who purchase group packages can monitor employee progress and completion status. Modules can be purchased individually or as a complete package.
